members assistance program (MAP)

COMMUNICATIONS WORKERS OF AMERICA MAP – Members' Assistance Program – Overview

For many years, CWA has offered a Members' Assistance Program (MAP). MAP is a union-based initiative designed to support our members when life's challenges negatively impact their job performance and productivity. CWA is committed to fostering a safe, harassment-free, and healthy workplace, free from violence, sexual harassment, discrimination, drugs, and alcohol.

We have trained MAP Coordinators/Counselors who understand the relevant laws and regulations related to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) issues, company and union policies and procedures, changes in court decisions, and how these guidelines affect our members (e.g., D.O.T. Regulations, FMLA, ADA).

We provide high-quality assessments and referrals for various issues, including but not limited to:

  • Drugs/Alcohol

  • Eating Disorders

  • Marriage

  • Legal

  • Gambling

  • Adolescent Issues

  • Counseling

  • Family Issues

  • Sexual Addiction

  • Domestic Violence

  • Elder Care

  • Medical Benefits
