National Mobilizing Committee Training: Week 1 Recap

Our first week with the National Mobilizing Committee (NMC) for training on the importance of Rank & File mobilization has successfully concluded. Chad, Carson, and Chuck remarked that Local 9588 has "fire in their bellies," and we are excited to welcome them back at the end of October.

This past week, we had 75 members participate—many of whom haven't been involved in union activities outside of contract negotiations. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with evaluations praising the training. We’ve had members sign up for PAF, showed interest in being stewards, and all 75 members have made a pledge to be apart of the mobilizing structure that Chad talked about.

We're looking forward to training even more members in October, but we need participants to register ahead of time to ensure the NMC can return. Please register as soon as possible.

I’ve been here for 20 years I wish we had this training sooner, it was very educational and motivational this training must be continued if CWA is expected to win.

This brought a great amount of understanding and how to use mobilizing as a very effective tool to gain leverage in negotiations. I plan on using what I learned to inform my fellow techs. I wish the union had informed us on mobilizing and the power it has. But it’s ok going forward I plan on participating as much as possible.

It’s refreshing to see that there are still others fighting the good fight. I’m hoping to at least do my small part and spread the word.
